In our classroom, Montessori learning materials are arranged invitingly on low, open shelves. Children may choose whatever materials they would like to use and may work for as long as the material holds their interest. Every spring, we raise salmon in the classroom. Our students learn about the salmon’s habitat, life cycle, and anatomy. When the salmon are big enough, we release them into Sequalitchew Creek here in DuPont. In this picture, Ms. Crystal is depositing eggs into the tank.
